Announcement of Elections for the year 2025
This
is an announcement for the third election of NEDATS Board of Directors (BOD).
BOD consists of nine (9) members each elected for three (3) years term. Per the
Bylaws only member in good standing (current with his/her annual membership
fee) on the 10th day from announcement of an election and remain in
good standing till the time of election shall be eligible to contest and vote
in the election. Today’s announcement establishes this date as April 10th,
2025. Members who are interested to contest, nominate, second
a candidate or vote in this upcoming BOD election shall make sure
that they have paid membership status on April 10th, 2025 and it remains paid
till the date of election result announcement which is set for June 16th, 2025.

As per the requirement of the Bylaws, BOD has
appointed a three-member election commission for conducting this 2025 BOD
election. The following respected
individual form this year’s Election Commission:
1. Chairman –
Mr. Abdul Muqtadir – NED Alumni
2. Member –
Mr. Anis Baig – NED Alumni
3. Member –
Mr. Jalees Khan – NED Alumni
To
contest for an election the participator must be:
According
to Bylaws, members who have been part of BOD in both the current and the one
preceding term are not
eligible
to contest in this election. Per this requirement current BOD members Anas
Hashmi, Shahbaz Zubairi & Badar
Bhatti
cannot run for any BOD position in this upcoming election.
For
the Election of Board of Directors of NEDATS, following timetable
will be followed:
31 March 2025 (Monday) Announcement
of Election by the President
10 April 2025 (Thursday) To
be eligible to vote, nominate a candidate, second a candidate or run for
office, a member should have paid membership dues by this date and shall
maintain paid status till the time of Election announcement date of June 16,
2025
12 April 2025 (Saturday) Blank
Nomination Papers will be sent to eligible members by the Election Commission
27 April 2025 (Sunday) Last date for Receiving of Nomination Papers by Election
Commission
05 May 2025 (Monday) Election Commission will announce the Names of Candidates
09 May 2025 (Friday) Last
day to file appeal against rejection of Nomination Papers or withdraw
nomination
16 May 2025 (Friday) Election
Commission will inform the results of appeal and final list of candidates
12 June 2025 (Thursday) Ballot
will be E-mailed to eligible members.
15 June 2025 (Sunday) Election
Commission must receive the ballot back.
16 June 2025 (Monday) Election Commission will announce the results of the
Election
01 July 2025 (Tuesday) Start
of 3 years of the new Board of Directors
Elections will
be held for all the nine positions of BOD which are described in Article IX of
the By-Laws; President, Vice President, General Secretary, Finance
Secretary, Joint Secretary, Social Secretary I, Social Secretary II,
Information and Publications Secretary and NED Liaison Secretary. The Board
Members shall hold their respective offices for a period of three (3) years.
