NEDATS Scholarship 2022-23

NED Alumni Association of Tri-State (NEDATS) is pleased to announce the scholarship program for the forthcoming academic year.
All the students who qualify the eligibility criteria stated below are encouraged to apply for the scholarship.

Who is eligible?
The applicant shall either be a graduate of NED University of Engineering & Technology (NEDUET), Pakistan who is enrolled in an accredited institution in the United States to acquire a Master's Degree or the child of alumni of NEDUET who is either enrolled in a four-year accredited program in the United States to obtain a Bachelor's Degree or studying to acquire basic degree in Law, Medical, Dentistry and Pharmacy immediately after Bachelor's degree. All the applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or better.

Are only NEDATS member and their children eligible?
No. Any person, who fulfills the criteria of eligibility above, qualifies to apply for this scholarship but NEDATS paid members and their children will get precedence over others based on their association with NEDATS.. Preference due to participation in NEDATS sponsored events is given regardless of membership status.

How is this scholarship publicized?
NEDATS will publicize the scholarships on its website, on Notice Boards of NEDUET and through e-mails to its mailing list and members of other NED Alumni Associations.

Who is NOT eligible?
NEDATS Board of Directors and their children do not qualify for this scholarship. Also, students whose tuition is entirely covered by other scholarships/grants but not by loans do not qualify for this scholarship. Students who have already applied four times during bachelor's degree and two times during master's degree are not eligible.

NOTE: Applicants are required to attach a statement discolsing any other grants/scholarships they have received. In case of receipt of such grants/scholarships, details of the source and amount should also be provided.

How can I apply?
Submit the completed application forms Part A & Part B, copy of transcript, tax returns, other relevant documents and the essay. This year topic for the essay is: "IMPACT OF COVID-19 ON EDUCATION".

What is the last date for submission of Application?
The completed application along with all required documentation should be received by NEDATS no later than APRIL 20, 2022 by 11.59 pm. Make sure to give ample time for our receipt by mail.

How and when will I be notified?
The selected candidates will be notified through email by May 08, 2022.

If I am selected, how I am going to receive the check?
Scholarship checks are strictly to be handed over in a ceremony to be held on Sunday, May 22nd, 2022 following the announcement of the selected candidates. Your presence in the event is mandatory with the exception if living and studying out of Tri-state. The check will be in the name of institution where you are enrolled. Forward the check as part of your tuition fees. The check can only be cashed by the institution.

How will the selection be made?
The application is divided into two parts; PART A (Personal Information) and Part B (Financial Information). NEDATS shall receive Part A and review it along with the required documents and essay. Part B of the application shall be directly emailed to the Independent Accounting firm hired for this purpose. This firm will evaluate the financial documents of each applicant and grade it based on the family income and liabilities and will notify the NEDATS of its evaluation.Part B application and supporting documents will not be shared with NEDATS Board of Directors and will remain in possession of the accounting firm. Amongst all the applicants the best candidates will be selected based on educational and financial information and support documents provided.
