NEDATS Scholarship 2023-24
NED Alumni Association of Tri-State (NEDATS) is pleased to announce the scholarship program for the forthcoming academic year.

Who is eligible?
The applicant shall either be a graduate of NED University of Engineering & Technology (NEDUET), Pakistan who is enrolled in an accredited institution in the United States to acquire a Master’s Degree or the child of alumni of NEDUET who is either enrolled in a four-year accredited program in the United States to obtain a Bachelor’s Degree or studying to acquire basic degree in Law, Medical, Dentistry and Pharmacy immediately after Bachelor’s degree. All the applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or better and shall be enrolled in upcoming Spring 2024 semester.
Are only NEDATS member and their children eligible?
No. Any person, who fulfills the criteria of eligibility above, qualifies to apply for this scholarship but NEDATS paid members and their children will get precedence over others based on their association with NEDATS.. Preference due to participation in NEDATS sponsored events is given regardless of membership status.
How is this scholarship publicized?
NEDATS will publicize the scholarships on its website, on Notice Boards of NEDUET and through e-mails to its mailing list and members of other NED Alumni Associations.
Who is NOT eligible?
NEDATS Board of Directors and their children do not qualify for this scholarship. Also, students whose tuition is entirely covered by other scholarships/grants but not by loans do not qualify for this scholarship. Students who have already applied four times during bachelor's degree and two times during master's degree are not eligible.
How can I apply?
Submit the completed application forms Part A(through google form) and Part B(through mail), copy of transcript, tax returns, other relevant documents and the MANDATORY essay. This year topic for the essay is "Life on other planets - myth or reality?"
What is the last date for submission of Application?
The completed application along with all required documentation should be received by NEDATS and the Accounting Firm no later than January 14, 2024 by 11:59 pm.
How and when will I be notified?
The selected candidates will be notified through email by January 21, 2024.
If I am selected, how I am going to receive the check?
Scholarship checks will be mailed to the selected applicants in the name of the institution where enrolled via mail in January 2024. The institution shall only cash the check. If for any reason, you decide not to study in the institute for the said semester, the money shall be returned to NEDATS.
Is it mandatory to attend the NEDATS Scholarship Award & Fundraising dinner?
YES. To help you with the payment of your dues, we give scholarship check before our fundraising dinner. We expect that you will be attending our scholarship award and fundraising event. It is mandatory for all recipients living in Tri-state area to attend this event. This year event will take place on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Marriott located in Teaneck, NJ.
How will the selection be made?
The application is divided into two parts; PART A – Personal Information and Part B – Financial Information. NEDATS shall receive Part A and review it along with the required documents and essay. Part B of the application shall be directly Emailed to the Independent Accounting firm hired for this purpose. This firm will evaluate the financial documents of each applicant and grade it based on the family income and liabilities and will notify the NEDATS of its evaluation. Part B application and supporting documents will not be shared with NEDATS Board of Directors and will remain in possession of the accounting firm. Amongst all the applicants, the best candidates will be selected based on educational and financial criteria adopted for the award of scholarship.
